Spotlight on our Volunteers

1 June 2020

It’s National Volunteers’ Week – an annual celebration of the millions of people across the UK who volunteer. This year, although we can’t come together to celebrate, we can showcase the incredible stories of how our community supports others.

At NTU we are extremely grateful to have almost 1000 volunteers who give up their time to support our current students through our Alumni and Industry Fellowship Programme. The case studies below are from some of our amazing Fellows, and give an insight into why they are inspired to volunteer with us, and how they give back to NTU:

Neil Chattle, BEng Hons Mechanical Engineering (2007)

Stuart Harrod, BA Hons Business Management and Marketing (2013)

Akil Hunte, LLB Hons Law (2012)

Bill Jennings, Magistrate and Industry Fellow

Shreesha Khare, MSc Human Resource Management (2016)

Gianluca Negro, MSc Management (2014)

Bhavesh Shah, BSc Hons Real Estate Management (2006)

Bernie Stocks, MBA (1993)

Laura Summers, BA Hons International Studies (2006)

Janet Wootton, MA Fine Art (2012)

If you are currently an NTU Alumni or Industry Fellow and want to share your experiences this Volunteers’ Week, join the conversation on social media – post your story using #NTUvolunteering #WhyIVolunteer.
