Leaving a legacy

Remembering us in your will

Many of us will never have the opportunity to make charitable gifts at the level we would like to as we often need to address priorities closer to home.

After providing for your family and friends, please consider remembering Nottingham Trent in your will as it is our friends who will make the future for generations of students to come. By making provision in your will for Nottingham Trent University you can have a lasting impact on areas that have been important to you in your life and career.

You may choose to support life-giving scientific research, a particular area of study, student awards or scholarship opportunities, the physical campus environment or extra-curricular projects. You may even wish to commemorate a loved one by naming an award, scholarship, room or building to honour them.

As the University has charitable status, a gift in your will can have considerable inheritance tax savings, if drafted correctly. You are strongly advised to consult a solicitor when drafting your will.

If you are thinking of helping future generations of students by leaving a gift in your will to Nottingham Trent University, you are welcome to talk to us, in confidence, about your plans to ensure that your wishes can be fulfilled in the future. Please email Kayleigh Glasper, Head of Philanthropy, for more information.

Legacies don't have to be large amounts of money or valuable assets - modest amounts are just as important. To find out more about how legacy giving can make a difference read profiles of other alumni and friends who have already pledged to support future generations of students.
