runNTU 2014 was held on April 26.

300 people of all ages and abilities registered for the event which raised over £6,000 for the work of the John van Geest Cancer Research Centre.

The event brought several improvements on the previous year, with large banners and a gantry helping to make the start area vibrant. Additional musical entertainment was provided, and bouncy castles helped keep people of all ages entertained! The Trent Tigers cheerleading squad were in attendance giving support to the runners for their final sprint finishes, adding to the wonderful atmosphere on the day.

Runners of all ages and abilities took part, including a large group of Nordic walkers, one of whom said “I cannot tell you how good I felt after the event and coming down the finishing straight to all the cheers was something I will never forget. I have been on a real high ever since. I had to work extremely hard to try and keep up but I found that I coped well with the final incline and thanks to the tremendous reception on the finish straight I could have ran the final 100 yards, it was great!”You can share in the atmosphere by viewing the event photos by liking our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/vanGeestCancer - and visit www.runNTU.co.uk for information on the 2015 event.
