Sir Roger Carr - Chairman of BAE Systems

Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration in recognition of his
significant contribution to business, industry and public service.

Sir Roger Carr

Sir Roger Carr is Chairman of BAE Systems. He is also a senior advisor to KKR, the world’s largest private equity company. He has previously also been chairman of Centrica, Cadbury, Chubb, Thames Water, and Mitchells & Butlers.

Other senior appointments he has held include Vice Chairman of the BBC Trust, Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director of the Court of the Bank of England, Chief Executive of Williams plc, and President of the Confederation of British Industry.

Sir Roger is a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Arts, Manufacturers & Commerce; a Companion of the Institute of Management; an honorary fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators; a visiting fellow of Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford; and a trustee of Bletchley Park.

He was knighted for services to business in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list 2011.
