Professor Neil Gorman - Former Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University

Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University in recognition of his significant
contribution to Nottingham Trent University and higher education.

Professor Neil Gorman was Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University from 2003 to 2014. Drawing on his background in academic leadership and international business management, his energy and determination transformed the University into the institution that we know today. He prioritised real-world research with genuine international stature, laying the foundation on which NTU’s recent awards success has been built. 

Away from NTU, Neil is an international authority in veterinary science and has received numerous awards for his contribution to the field. He has taught at the Universities of Cambridge, Florida, Michigan State, Sydney, and Glasgow. He served on the council of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) for twenty years, and led the development of their education strategy for the veterinary profession in the UK. He has been Global Director of Science and Technology Platforms at Mars Incorporated, and has served on a number of review and advisory bodies.
