She said yes!

Alumni Tom and Kim got engaged on Saturday 29 June after Tom proposed in the NTU George Eliot Resource Room where they first met.
Tom Fisher (BA Hons International Studies 2007) and Kim Gower (BSc Hons Psychology 2007) met in the resource room while they were working on their dissertations. Tom organised the proposal with staff at NTU’s Clifton Library and set out the room with pictures of them both from the last six years. He told Kim that they were going to a University reunion and even set up a fake Facebook reunion page asking friends, who were in on the plot, to send spoof messages. Kim only twigged what was going on when she was outside the resource room door!
Tom said: “We met in the resource room whilst writing our dissertations. Kim studied at the City campus, but came to Clifton for a bit more peace and quiet. As the computer room gradually emptied whilst we worked through the nights leading up to our deadlines, we were often the only people there. We started talking and, after a few days, Kim finished her dissertation and left – seemingly never to see me again! On our last day of university we met again, purely by accident, in a bar and have been together ever since.”
Tom and Kim are now planning their wedding for June 2014.
