...and thank heavens I don't have to say THAT on television...
A HUGE congratulations to Richard Hounslow, BSc Hons Sport (Science and Management) 2003, who won Silver in the Olympic C2 Canoe Slalom. What a superb achievement. At NTU we're proud of every alumnus, but if Richard turns up at the next networking event with an Olympic silver medal round his neck it's bound to carry a little bit of kudos!

I'm gearing up for spending this Sunday (12 August) somewhere very high over London to get a good glimpse of the Olympic stadium ahead of the closing ceremony. I'm not keen on getting too high, so you can watch me turn green on Sky News from 0600-1000. I haven't been told the exact location yet so fingers crossed it's just a nice hotel room with a view, but I'm packing a sick bag just in case.
