MBE for Emily

Emily Macaulay MBEAlumna Emily Macaulay (BA Hons Criminology 2003) has collected her MBE for services to equality and diversity as lately Leader of the Gay Police Association in Devon and Cornwall Police.

Emily was awarded the MBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours List 2014 and was presented with the honour by HRH Princess Anne the Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace recently.

Emily said: “During my time at NTU I was involved in the LGBT Society and truly found my confidence in my sexual orientation. This, in addition to the formative experience of University (the best three years of my life), has been a hugely significant factor in getting me to this point. My heartfelt thanks go to those staff in Criminology who are still around and remember me!”
