Mr David Collier OBE - Sports administrator and businessman

Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of cricket in England and Wales, and his achievement in the field of sports administration.

David Collier OBE

David is best known for his appointment to the boards of the world governing bodies of three sports – cricket, hockey and rugby league.

He graduated from Loughborough University and received postgraduate education at Wharton Business School in the US and at the Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD) in Paris.

David has held executive roles at several county cricket clubs, and in 2005 he became Chief Executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). He was awarded the OBE for services to cricket in 2014, and in 2015 he was appointed Chief Executive of the Rugby League International Federation. He is also Chairman of the International Hockey Rules Board.

David has also had a high-profile career in the travel and computer industries. Between 1986 and 1998 he held managerial, directorial and presidential positions at companies including
IT services firm Sema Group, American Airlines, and aircraft ground
handling company Servisair.
