Former NTU tennis captain supports new courts on campus

15 June 2012

Paul LesterThe development of excellent sporting facilities at NTU continues with the recent installation of four brand new tennis courts at the Lee Westwood Sport Centre on Clifton campus.

The new courts were part funded by NTU alumnus and former NTU tennis captain, Paul Lester (BSc Hons Mechanical Engineering 1972), as well as Sport and Lifestyle sponsor, Logicalis.

Paul visited campus in May and toured the new sports facilities before teaming up with current NTU Tennis Club President William Morton to play a special tennis doubles match against Men’s First Team Captain Edward Blake and Second Team Player Sam Jones.

The new tennis facilities will make playing the sport a lot cheaper for the University’s Tennis Club, who will no longer have to hire external courts. It is also hoped that they will encourage more students to take part in the sport.
