Employability Mentoring

The Employability Mentoring Programme is looking to recruit alumni mentors to support and encourage students to develop their graduate employment prospects by creating a relationship where they share their experience and expertise enabling the student to better equip themselves for the world of work. This relationship can take place over email, telephone, Skype and/or face-to-face. 

What we need

  • Alumni from the School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Science (ARES) and the School of Social Sciences (SSS)
  • Alumni that possess at least two years professional and business expertise
  • Alumni that can provide on-going professional support to a current student over an agreed period of time

Important dates

Register your interest in volunteering to be an alumni mentor now by emailing alumni@ntu.ac.uk, and early in the New Year we will send you a link to an online application form and an information pack about what your role will involve.

If you are still interested in volunteering as an alumni mentor after receiving all the information, you will then need to complete the online application form by 23 January 2013. The information that you provide on your application form will determine the student mentee that you will be matched with. You will be informed who you will be mentoring by 1 February 2013. 

There will be two formal launch events for the mentors and mentees for each of the Schools involved:

  • 27 February 2013 - ARES at NTU's Brackenhurst Campus
  • 28 February 2013 - SSS at NTU's City Campus


There will also be a celebration event to take place in May 2013 when the programme will conclude.
