Tim Reddish CBE - Chairman of the British Paralympic Association

Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University in recognition of his significant contribution to sustained excellence and achievement in Paralympic sport across three decades, initially as a competitor and more recently as a performance director and contributor to the Paralympic movement in the UK and worldwide.

Tim competed in three Paralympic Games, three World Swimming Championships, and five European Swimming Championships. He won 43 medals, including three silver and two bronze Paralympic medals. In recognition of his services to Paralympic sport, Tim was awarded an MBE in 2001, an OBE in 2009, and a CBE in 2017.

He became the National Performance Director for British Disability Swimming in 2003, and led the team to success at both the Athens and Beijing Paralympic Games. In 2008 he was made Chairman of the British Paralympic Association and a board member of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tim left British Swimming in 2013 to establish “timreddish.com”, a successful business delivering motivational speaking and personal development. In 2017 he joined the governing board of the International Paralympic Committee, and he is also a non-executive director of the Sherwood Forest Hospital Foundation Trust.
