Richard Davison - Four time equestrian Olympian and European medallist

Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science in recognition of his significant contribution to the world of equestrian sport

Richard DavisonRichard is a four-time equestrian Olympian and a European medallist who has been at the forefront of the international equestrian world for almost four decades.

Whilst competing at the London 2012 Olympics, Richard also finished his four-year term as the British World Class Performance Manager and British Dressage Team Captain.

Aside from his own competition programme, Richard’s advice and coaching skills are sought by some of the world’s most successful dressage and showjumping riders. He has been a coach to the UK Sport World Class Development Showjumping Programme for almost a decade and has been on the organising committee of countless high profile equestrian and dressage competitions.

Richard has been awarded the Horse of the Year Show’s Equestrian Personality of the Year award and Horse and Hound magazine’s Rider of the Year Award.

Richard was born in Nottingham and is a Visiting Fellow at NTU.
