Sir Kenneth Olisa PBE - Lord Lieutenant of Greater London

Honorary Degree of Doctor of the University in recognition of his significant
contribution to business, public service and philanthropy.

Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE

Sir Ken's career in technology spans over 30 years. He started out at IBM after winning a scholarship while still an undergraduate at the University of Cambridge.
He moved to Wang Labs in 1981, and in 1992 he founded Interregnum, the technology merchant bank.

He is currently founder and Chairman of Restoration Partners, the boutique technology merchant bank, and of the Aleto Foundation. He is Chairman of Interswitch, Africa's largest e-payments company, and the charity Shaw Trust. He is a director of Huawei, the Chinese multinational telecommunications company, and a partron of Thames Reach. He topped the 2016 Powerlist of the UK's most influential black people.

Sir Ken was elected as a Fellow of the British Computer Society in 2006 and received an OBE in 2010. In 2015 he was appointed Lord Lieutenant of Greater London. He was knighted in the 2018 New Year's Honours List for servcies to business and philanthropy.
