World Cup call up for alumna Carly

Congratulations are in order for alumna, Carly Telford (BA Hons Media 2018).
Carly is the goalkeeper for Chelsea FC Women and recently got the news that she has been selected for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup, taking place in France between 7 June and 7 July!
We recently spoke to Carly to congratulate her on her success and she told us:
“It’s an absolute honour to be called up to represent England. But there’s always something special about getting included in a World Cup squad! I can’t wait to get out there!
I’d like to thank NTU for all their support during my time studying, I was able to complete my degree last year which enabled me to spend this year focusing on football. I’d like to think this played a part in helping me reach the World Cup.
So finally, thank you to all my lecturers and class mates who helped me along the way!”
