07/09/2010
|
The second NTU Rugby League Legends match will take place on Clifton Campus’ Pitch 1 on Saturday 2 October 2010 at 2.30 pm pitting the current NTU Rugby League (NTURL) team against the Trent Rugby League Legends of the past. Last year’s inaugural fixture was a great success and this year’s game has been scheduled to provide maximum entertainment on and of the field. Community Rugby League Coach and former NTURL player George Strachan said: “This year’s game will follow Saturday Antics where new NTU students will be trying out Rugby League activities before seeing our Legends team take on current players. Following the game the players and supporters can rehydrate whilst watching the Super League Grand Final - the centre piece of our sport.” Rugby League has a long history at NTU and its previous incarnations and former players founded the local community club 'Nottingham Outlaws' - www.nottinghamrl.co.uk - in 1999 which now provides coaching for hundreds of youngsters and adults in the local community. If you're a former NTU Rugby League player and would like to make contact with former teammates whilst playing some Rugby League then please contact George Strachan at george.strachan@ntu.ac.uk or call 07723 821790.
